AdvanEdge – from Advanced Drainage Systems (ADS), a global leader in corrugated thermoplastic drainage pipes and a specialist in water management systems – offers a high-performance alternative to traditional round perforated drainage pipes for applications including sports pitches, golf greens, highway edge drains, foundations, retaining walls and as an underdrain to the innovative StormTech combined SuDS attenuation and stormwater treatment system.
A perforated, high-density polyethylene panel pipe engineered to deliver rapid water collection and removal in constrained installation environments, AdvanEdge is unlike conventional round drainage pipes as the system features a slim 38mm profile and a broad panel configuration that maximises soil contact area while enabling installation in narrow trenches.
AdvanEdge consistently lives up to the promise of long-term durability and affordable installed cost. Its slimline design allows contractors to install drainage in narrow slit trenches using high-speed trenching equipment, reducing excavation volumes and installation time.
AdvanEDGE has been developed for subsurface land drainage applications where installation speed, hydraulic efficiency and structural durability are critical.
Delivered in 30m coils, AdvanEdge incorporates a perforated panel-shaped core with internal pillars that maintain structural integrity and create oval-shaped internal flow channels. This configuration minimises obstructions within the water channel while permitting higher flow velocities at lower head conditions. When compared with a 100mm round pipe, AdvanEdge provides twice the soil contact area and can drain a given volume of water in 60% of the time.
AdvanEDGE is available with or without an external geotextile wrap for soil filtration. Where geotextile is specified, the product meets the requirements of a Class B Geocomposite as defined in ASTM D7001. The pipe itself also conforms to ASTM D7001 and is manufactured from polyethylene material with a minimum cell classification of 424420C under ASTM D3350.
ADS offers comprehensive technical support for design, installation and maintenance; as well as training and a CPD on below ground SuDS attenuation and treatment covering legislation, best practice and comparable systems. For more information, visit www.adspipe.co.uk.
